MySalsaHub
Your data & account
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Delete your account yourself
- Log in and open My dance space Delete your account.
- Select Delete my account and read the confirmation.
- Type DELETE. For your security, you must have signed in within the previous 15 minutes. If asked, log out and sign in again with a fresh email code or an available connected provider, then return to this page. No MySalsaHub password is required.
- Select Delete permanently. Your account is removed from the active database and all its sessions are signed out. This cannot be undone.
The last active administrator must appoint another administrator first. No separate deletion-confirmation email is needed; email-code sign-in may still be required to authenticate again.
You can request deletion of your MySalsaHub account, including data obtained through Facebook or Google login.
Need help or cannot sign in?
- Email mysalsahub@gmail.com with the subject MySalsaHub data deletion.
- Use the email address associated with your account where possible. State whether you want your entire account deleted, only its Facebook/Google connection removed, a feedback ticket removed, or your newsletter subscription deleted.
- We will verify ownership if needed, process the request and reply with confirmation. Never send a sign-in code, authentication link or a provider’s secret key.
We aim to respond within one month, in accordance with applicable data protection rules. If an extension or a limited retention requirement applies, we will explain it.
What is removed immediately?
Deleting your account removes its personal profile and stored photo, nickname, roles, sessions, email sign-in challenges, push subscriptions, wishlist and attendance entries, event assignments, Hector conversations and linked Google/Facebook identifiers from the active account database. It also removes the newsletter subscription associated with the account email, linked archived email copies and feedback tickets linked by account or email. MySalsaHub does not store an account password or password hash.
Your participation requests, introductions, messages and reports for shared rides and stays are removed. Stays you host are deleted in full, including the private address, map coordinates, requests, discussions and reports. Other participants may receive a general cancellation or departure notice that does not contain your private details.
Your dancer profile becomes unavailable. Your follow requests, followers, following, blocks and shared dance memories are deleted, including memories that also appeared on another profile or an event. Your event ratings are deleted and no longer contribute to event averages. A MyDanceFrame image saved as your MySalsaHub profile photo is removed with that stored photo. Creations downloaded to your device or shared with another app, and emails already delivered to your mailbox, cannot be removed from those locations by deleting your MySalsaHub account.
What may remain temporarily?
Regular nights you submitted lose their account ownership link and disappear from public results when you delete your account. Future reminders stop. Venue content, moderation history and technical reminder-occurrence records may remain for administrative review. Contact us to request removal of that content.
A ride you host is cancelled, disconnected from your account and stripped of its meeting point, destination and notes. The remaining technical ride record follows the normal ride-retention schedule so other participants can understand that it was cancelled. Generic notifications already delivered to other accounts follow their own retention.
Security records can retain a pseudonymous connection hash, an internal identifier and limited action details for up to 180 days to protect the service. Published event or organizer records can remain as platform content after their account ownership or assignment is removed; contact us if such content identifies you and should also be reviewed. Anonymous MyDanceFrame creation totals do not identify your account and are not deleted with it.
Server backups are rotated after 30 days. Separately held encrypted copies are reviewed as part of a deletion request, and deleted data must not be reintroduced on restoration. Self-hosted audience records are not linked to account IDs; tell us if your request also concerns those records so we can assess whether they can be identified.
Manage individual preferences
To keep your account, remove individual events from My wishlist or I was there, change your newsletter choice or profile photo in Personal details, deactivate your dancer profile, delete a hosted stay, leave a ride or stay, archive account notifications, or disconnect a provider in Connected accounts. Before disconnecting the last provider, you must have a verified email for code sign-in or another available connected sign-in method. Disconnecting a provider keeps your account and signs out your other sessions. Salsa Passport totals, stamps and annual Traveler status are recalculated from your attended events, so correcting attendance changes those summaries.
Control your community and shared memories
In Personal details, choose Private to restrict dancer-profile activity to accepted followers, or turn Dancer profile off to deactivate the page. Neither action deletes your account, connections or stored memories. Switching to Private does not remove existing followers and does not make published memories private on an event’s Memories page. Deactivation hides those event memories while either participant’s profile is disabled.
In My community, cancel a pending request, unfollow a dancer or remove a follower. Unfollowing does not remove a published memory. Use Withdraw this memory in Shared dances to hide an individual memory. Blocking removes the connections and withdraws the memories; unblocking does not restore them automatically. Manage blocks from Configuration, then Blocked dancers.
Use Withdraw this memory in Shared dances to stop publishing a specific memory. Either participant can do this. Withdrawal is not permanent deletion of its stored record; to request erasure of an individual memory, contact us from your account email and identify the event and other participant. Do not include private details you do not need to share. Copies or screenshots already made outside MySalsaHub cannot be recalled.
Deleting either participant’s account removes the associated shared-memory records from the active database, including their appearances on the other profile and event. See connection changes and sharing a memory for step-by-step guidance.
Removing Facebook or Google access
You may also revoke MySalsaHub access in your Facebook or Google account’s connected-app settings. This stops that provider’s authorisation but does not itself delete the MySalsaHub account. To delete the account, use the account option or email procedure above.
