About Salsa Beach Splash Festival 2016
Some festivals leave you with photographs. Salsa Beach Splash left you with a song that could take you straight back to summer. Launched in 2012 in Šibenik, Croatia, the festival brought dancers together at Solaris Beach Resort, later known as Amadria Park. Workshops with international artists, beach and pool parties, and socials stretching into the early hours gave those summer days their own rhythm. There was time to learn, time to swim, and always another reason to dance. The celebration also reached the historic heart of Šibenik, where music and performances filled the square in front of the cathedral. For a few days, a dance holiday became part of the life of the city. What made the setting special was the closeness of everything: the Adriatic, the dance floor, and the people you kept meeting between the two. A partner from the night before could become a familiar face by the beach the next afternoon. One more dance could turn into a conversation, and a conversation into a friendship that lasted beyond the journey home. Salsa Beach Splash is no longer held, but these past editions preserve a little of that summer feeling: music by the sea, tired feet after a long night, and the reluctance to say goodbye when the last song ended.
